Attaching the JCA to the Torch

1.  Take the burning tip sleeve of the attachment and slip it over the cutting tip until it seats snugly against the tip
nut.  The JCA will be positioned alongside the barrel with the saddle end toward you.

2.  Gently press down on the saddle, moving it under the barrel of the torch.  (Note: If you push down too hard, you
could bend the gear rack.)  Then as you let up on the pressure, the saddle should come to rest under the
barrel of the torch, holding itself naturally in place.

3.  Double-check to make sure the burning tip sleeve of the JCA is tight against the tip nut.

Adjusting the Pointer

1.  On top of the pointer carrier assembly, you will see a thumb set screw.  Pulling it toward you loosens the
pointer so it can be set to the correct radius.  The knob on the left side of the pointer assembly is for precise
adjustments.  When the pointer is set to the diameter you choose to burn, push forward on the thumb set
screw to lock it into position.

Burning Speed

1.  A burn that is too slow will result in a rolled or notched edge.  A burn that is too fast will usually burn out the
     side of your burn.

2.  You may need to adjust the height of your pointer to the size of the tip that you are using to keep the blue
      flame off the iron.

Burning Circles

1.  It works best to cut a circle or curve with one continuous burn (i.e., without stopping and restarting).
If you are cutting a complete circle, try to place your metal on a small stand which allows you to walk all
the way around as you're cutting.  Or, release the cutting attachment at the saddle which locks it to the
torch body.  By doing this, the circle can be cut without walking around the cutting table.  Simply swing the
     cutting attachment in a circle.

2.  On the edge where you begin your burn, drill a hole approximately 3/16" in diameter outside your radius
if want to keep the I.D.; if you want to keep the inside of your radius, drill the hole O.D.  It is possible to
start  your burn without drilling a hole in thinner metals, but it is not recommended.  That could result in blow
back with could plug you tip.

Setting Up to Burn

1.  With a good, clean tip and properly adjusted pressures, you will get a spitting sound as you press the
      oxygen valve lever.

2.  After you have inserted the proper tip for the size of metal that you are cutting and adjusted the pressures
of oxygen and acetylene to the victor acetylene tip chart, attach the JCA.

3.  Use the center punch to mark the center of your circle.  Light your torch and adjust the oxygen to the spitting
sound.  Then place the pointer into the center punch mark.  It is important to position your torch square with
the iron that you are burning if you want a square edge when you have made your cut.

4.  As is, the JCA will cut a 23" diameter.  In order to cut a radius of 26", rotate the pointer 180 degrees so that
the pointer is pointing toward you.  To do so, loosen the same set screw that you used to raise and lower
the pointer, rotate 180 degrees and re-tighten.
